Located on the lower ridge, it is the closest hill station from Delhi, the capital city of India. The toy train, Shimla- Kalka mail, is the most preferred Shimla tourism attraction popular among the tourists who visit here.
A rail track was constructed in 1903 between Kalka and Shimla and the train runs between the cities of Himachal Pradesh that gives an amazing view of the snow-clad mountain range of the Himalayas. The train is 100 years old and still runs on the same old tracks and has been declared by UNESCO as the World Heritage site. The train is no doubt the centre of attraction and gives tourism across Shimla all the reasons to boast of.
